The Orgin of Sugarloaf RV Park

In 1987 my wifes dad bought a party barge and kept it at the Sugarloaf marinea. We used it quit a bit for a couple of summers then every one kinda lost intrest. Then in 1997 he bought a camper and rented a spot close to the Sugarloaf rec. area and we started going back to the lake and cruiseing on the party barge which he still had at the marinea. Before long we got to know other weekenders and local folks we met on the lake. Then we bought a camper and a boat and put it next to my wifes dad. We were at the lake ever weekend and was haveing to much fun. Soon my sister and her husband got them a camper and I sold them our deck boat. When I bought a low profile jet boat being an old drag racer I wanted more noise and speed. My wifes sister and her husband bought a house boat that they keep at the Narrows. My wifes brother got him a camper and moved in. It got to be more like a home away from home. Then in 2002 we bought 3 acres on Resort Rd. that had a mobil home and shop. So we decided to put in an RV Park. Putting it in out of our pocket has been slow going. Not haveing to make a payment on it or depending on the rental income for our liveing allows us to rent the spots cheaper than a person could pull a camper from home every weekend. I found out its a lot easyer after work to throw a few clothes and grocerys in the car and have the camper and boat waiting on you to arrive than haveing to drag them back and forth. It also gives you more time to have fun and you go to the lake more often. What we want and will have is a business that doesn't seem like a business. Where people can come to the lake have a clean quite place to stay. Where they can fish, ski, cook out ride 4wheelers cruise on a party barge or just sit under the trees and do nothing.
